The term bishop’s mantle is a collar made of chainmail that covers the neck, shoulders, and the upper chest and back. It was especially popular with mercenaries of the 15th and 16th centuries and is woven like a chainmail cap. The name bishop’s collar can be traced back to its shape: a bishop’s mantle was cut very wide, so it was very similar to this chain armor.<\/p>\n
The bishop’s mantle is based on the historical models. They are serrated on the edge. The neck part of the chain mail is riveted to a leather strip and adjustable by means of straps and authentic, late medieval brass buckles.<\/p>\n
