The discovery of the Fuchsenhof dates back to around 1270 near Freistadt in the M\u00fchlviertel in Upper Austria. It is exhibited today at the Schlossmuseum Linz. In 1997, this high-medieval silver treasure was found at the Fuchsenhof farm while plowing a field. It mainly consists of coins and jewelry. Supposedly, a goldsmith or money dealer buried his property there in the course of the chaos of the time. With 366 pieces of jewelery, the Fuchsenhof treasury is one of the greatest jewelery finds from the High and Late Middle Ages.
